Nove Zhyttia Choir

The choir Nove Zhyttia was founded in October 2022 in the City of Edmonton. It was during a time of great trials for Ukraine, when the war forced many Ukrainians to seek refuge far from their homeland. Music and prayer became the unifying force that supported hearts, gave hope, and helped preserve a sense of unity and faith. In a short period of time, the choir has become an active participant in numerous cultural, artistic, and spiritual events in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Known for its warm, balanced, and resonant sound, the choir's repertoire includes select works of world classical and sacred music, as well as modern arrangements of Ukrainian folk and patriotic songs. The choir's activity creates a positive and supportive environment for newly arrived Ukrainians who have fled the war and serves as a meaningful platform for their cultural and social integration into Canadian society.
