While living in Quebec, she continued to immerse herself in the world of French music, expanding her repertoire. In the mid-80s, Chantal Marie moved to Yellowknife to work in the Canadian Arctic on the Ice Route and continued to perform at various musical venues in Yellowknife and Inuvik.
