The Jim Serediak Trio

The Jim Serediak Trio

Sunday • 2:15 pm | Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts (9225 - 118 Avenue)

The Jim Serediak Trio includes Jim on acoustic guitar/vocals, Jamie Philp on electric guitar/lap steel guitar and John Towill on electric bass.

The trio perform songs which Jim has written and recorded over the past decade or so. These songs carry the trademark of possessing thoughtful, engaging lyrics covering topics of environmental protection, travel, relationships and spirituality to name but a few. The vocals are presented over a bed of intriguing finger-style acoustic guitar, evocative bass lines and multi-coloured electic guitar themes. A representative sample may be heard and viewed on www.jimserediak.com/home and www.jango.com/music/Jim+Serediak as well as iTunes. Jim’s music is often heard on CKUA and CBC.

The Jim Serediak Trio can set up and be ready to perform in as little as 15 minutes and requires merely enough space to stand comfortably on stage with room for one small electric guitar amp and one small bass amp. Jim requires one vocal mic and a DI for his acoustic guitar. Both the electric guitar and bass can provide a direct out from their amps in the event that the sound technician requires this. An additional vocal mic is required for the electric guitarist. The trio can easily strike the set in 15 minutes.

The trio is as accommodating as possible in regard to fulfilling any performance times and dates offered, however bookings on weekends (day time) and weekdays (after 5 pm) are easiest to arrange, in the event that there is the option.
