Performers 2024

L’Essence

L’Essence

Saturday • 3:00 pm | The Hearth (9210 - 118 Avenue (Alberta Avenue Community League))

L’Essence was formed at Ecole Secondaire Beaumont High School in the context of the French Band program to prove to students in Alberta that the Francophone world had some cool Rock tunes too.

Now as adults we keep playing music. We also are Junior/Senior High Social Studies and Language Arts teachers in Beaumont, and believe that through (French) art students get motivated to learn about the world, history, literature, languages and cultures. They also rock in English as The Part Timers. Merci encore Deep Freeze pour votre invitation.

Simon St-Onge, a proud Acadian, and Nicholas Reich, a product of the French Immersion program, are Social Studies and Language Arts teachers in Beaumont. They love playing music every chance they get. They believe that art is a great teaching tool.

Rooted in the Folk and Bluegrass tradition, fiddler and songwriter Braden Gates joins forces with the pioneering spirit of one, Elliot Thomas. Together they embark on a musical journey that has the two of them making a few pit stops along the way. Maybe you’ll hear a Bulgarian folk song, or a Canadian Métis fiddle tune, or an original song about eggs. Braden and Elliot are pleased to be performing at this years Deep Freeze Festival.
