Join your friends & family for this jiggin’ good time at our Ukrainian Kitchen Party on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday for the French Canadian Kitchen Party. This has become a ‘festival favourite,’ with festival-goers enjoying vibrant, toe-tapping fiddle music in a session lead by some of Canada’s finest fiddlers and musicians, including host Calvin Vollrath, Jeremy Rusu, Daniel Gervais, Marango Pie, Jay Kuchinsky, Deanna Dolstra, Kobzari, and Melanie Doderai.

Tourtière is a wonderful French Canadian comfort food, loved by all, and each year on Francophone Cultural Day at Deep Freeze we serve homemade, delicious tourtière. Again this year we have challenged local cooks to come and show-off their best tourtière recipe in our Tourtière Baking Challenge. Results will be announced at 5:30 pm at The Hearth Stage.


La tourtière est un merveilleux plat réconfortant Canadien-Français, apprécié de tous. Chaque année, lors de la Journée culturelle francophone de Deep Freeze, nous servons une délicieuse tourtière faite à la maison. Cette année encore, nous avons mis au défi les cuisiniers locaux de venir présenter leur meilleure recette de tourtière dans le cadre de notre Tourtière Baking Challenge. Les résultats seront annoncés à 17h30 au stade Hearth.

Blacksmith Tim Moreland

Come watch and interact with local Blacksmith Tim Moreland in his mobile forge while he works the hot iron on his anvil, creating the metal tools and the hardware that were vital to the homesteader and pioneer in the early days of our province. Tim has a passion for tradition and history and he will try to answer all of your questions about blacksmithing and local history

Enjoy the Edmonton House Brigade, a Living History re-enactment group whose members bring back to life the days of the great fur brigades in western Canada at the end of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth centuries. Fur brigades were convoys of canoes and boats used to transport supplies, trading goods and furs in the North American fur trade industry.

The Edmonton Short Film Festival is bringing a specially curated selection of short films made by Alberta independent filmmakers to St. Faith’s Church. Short films are a great way to experience a variety of stories that will make you laugh, cry, feel joy and remind us of our uniqueness and diversity while celebrating our humanity.
